SINGULAR PLURAL


A singular noun stands for one person or thing.
A plural noun stands for more than one person or thing.



Form plural nouns.


1. By adding ‘s’

Example: ruler      -      rulers
                apple    -      apples


2. By adding ‘es’ to nouns ending in –s,
    -sh, -ch, -x, -o

Example: brush    -      brushes
                watch   -      watches


3. By changing –y into –ies

Example: fly         -      flies
                baby     -      babies


4. By changing –f or –fe into -ves

Example : thief     -      thieves

he’ , ‘she’ and ‘it’ are used to replace the names of people ,animals or things. They are used at the beginning of a sentence.

Simple Past Tense
The Simple Past Tense is used to show actions that have already happened.
The Simple Past Tense can be formed by :
- adding ‘d ‘ to a verb

- adding ‘ed ‘ to a verb
kick – kicked  /  polish – polished  /  watch - watched
- changing the ‘y ‘ to ‘ied ‘

Present Continuous Tense
The Present Continuous Tense is used for an action that is still going on at the time of speaking.

They are running around the field.

Past Continuous Tense
The Past Continuous Tense is used to show :
- a continuous action that
  was happening in the  
  past.
We were sleeping when the thief entered the house.

- two actions happening
  at the same time in the 
  past.
While he was dancing, his brother was playing the piano.

Simple Future Tense
The Simple Future Tense shows an action that will take place in the future.

I shall go there tomorrow.

ADVERB


An Adverb is a word that is used to show  how a person does something.



Example:

  1.       She walks to school quickly.
  2.       They walked back home happily.


Most adverbs end with ‘-ly’.

Adverbs can be formed by adding ‘-ly’ to adjectives.


Example:
